Gabriel Rolt-Violán (1977, Barcelona)
*Lives and works in Amsterdam
Gabriel Rolt-Violán is an art advisor, curator, and art dealer with over fifteen years of experience in the international art world. He studied Art History at Leiden University and has been active in the art arena since 2006, curating and organizing more than 200 exhibitions worldwide, working with contemporary and historical works across different periods and mediums.
Rolt-Violán’s special interest in the emerging art scene led him to found Galerie Gabriel Rolt, an Amsterdam-based art gallery that fostered the careers of an impressive stable of local and international artists. He subsequently founded and was creative director of HERO, expanding his work with international artists. His exhibitions often combine historical context with contemporary relevance, focusing on quality, originality, and depth.
As an associate at VIOLÁN, our family legacy art gallery established in 1960 in Barcelona by Josep Violàn, Gabriel continues a tradition of expertise in both historical and contemporary art. His work spans high-end secondary market works, contemporary art, Japanese Ukiyo-e, and antique prints, advising collectors, institutions, and private clients with a sharp eye for acquisitions and curation.
Gabriel has collaborated with leading artists, collectors, galleries, and institutions, bringing an independent and knowledgeable perspective to the art world. His approach is direct, informed, and intuitive, always focused on the work itself.
